Have you been wanting to learn more about accessibility, but you just don’t have time?

Join us for 10 X 10, where we share ten minute trainings on ten topics starting with alternative text! These mini trainings will be quick, impactful lessons to build everyday accessibility awareness.

  1. Alt Text Basics – June 2nd
    Learn how to describe images for screen readers. Understand when and how to use meaningful alternative text. 
  1. Color Contrast and Accessibility – June 9th
    Discover the importance of color contrast for readability. Use tools to test and ensure your content meets WCAG standards.
  1. Keyboard-Only Navigation – June 16th
    Understand how users navigate without a mouse. Try simple tab-navigation tests to improve usability.
  1. Accessible Document Formatting – June 23rd
    Use built-in tools to format Word, PowerPoint, and PDFs accessibly. Apply headings, document titles, and document languages.
  1. Video Accessibility: Captions and Transcripts – June 30th
    Learn why captions matter and how to add them. Provide transcripts for audio content when possible.
  1. Use of Headings for Structure – July 7th
    Use heading levels (H1, H2, etc.) to create clear content hierarchy. Make documents and webpages easier to navigate for screen readers.
  1. Writing for Accessibility – July 14th
    Write in plain language for clarity. Use inclusive, people-first language and avoid jargon.
  1. Link Text That Makes Sense – July 21st
    Make hyperlinks descriptive (e.g., "View Accessibility Guide" vs. "Click here"). Help users understand where a link leads before selecting.
  1. Accessibility Checkers and Quick Tools – July 28th
    Use built-in checkers in Microsoft Office and Adobe. Try browser tools to quickly scan webpages.
  2. Common Accessibility Myths Debunked – August 4th
    Accessibility benefits everyone — not just people with disabilities. Learn why it’s easier and more cost-effective than many assume.
