Course Description:

This three-module series is designed for department heads and directors and provides an overview of the financial, administrative, and operational practices that support responsible stewardship of university resources. Participants will explore foundational topics such as fund accounting, internal controls, procurement, payroll, and budget management, while also gaining insight into specialized areas including research administration, talent and safety management, information security, regulatory compliance, and audit and risk management. Across the series, learners will develop a practical understanding of the systems, processes, and oversight responsibilities that promote accountability, compliance, and effective departmental and institutional operations. 

Certificate Credits Available

This course consists of three required modules, each worth one certificate credit toward the Fiscal Training and Development Program. Participants who complete all modules will earn a total of three certificate credits.
