Course Description:
This course provides a foundational understanding of the policies, procedures, and resources that support a safe, secure, and well-managed campus environment at Virginia Tech. Participants will explore university responsibilities related to student well-being, campus safety, regulatory compliance, and operational support services. The course introduces key topics including student mental health resources, Clery Act requirements, campus safety practices, facilities and fleet operations, health and safety, key control, and fixed asset management. Participants will also learn how to locate university systems, policies, and departmental resources that support effective campus operations and responsible stewardship of university facilities and assets. Upon completion, learners will have the knowledge needed to support campus safety initiatives, comply with university requirements, and contribute to the effective management of university operations.
Certificate Credit s Available
Each module is self-paced, takes between 30 minutes to one hour to complete, and concludes with a quiz. Participants must achieve a score of 80% or higher on each quiz to successfully complete a module. This course consists of two modules, each worth one certificate credit toward the Fiscal Training and Development Program. Participants who complete all modules will earn a total of two credits.
