Description:
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to univariate descriptive statistics, emphasizing both conceptual understanding and practical application. Participants will learn to compare and compute the three key measures of central tendency (mean, median, and mode) and the five key measures of variability (range, interquartile range, variance, and standard deviation). The course also explores distribution shapes, including normal, positively skewed, and negatively skewed distributions, and introduces the concepts of mesokurtic, leptokurtic, and platykurtic distributions. Step-by-step instructions are provided for calculating all statistics by hand and using SPSS.
