This course helps mid-career faculty strategically revitalize and expand their research agendas. Participants will explore why the mid-career stage represents a critical inflection point, offering opportunities for reinvention, leadership, and broader impact. It addresses common psychological barriers (such as risk aversion and identity lock-in) and provides tactics to confidently pursue new lines of inquiry. Learners will examine how to stay current in their core field while expanding engagement with interdisciplinary peers and public audiences. The course also emphasizes diversifying scholarly outputs across formats, venues, and timelines, and aligning research innovation with available time, funding structures, evaluation criteria, and support systems.
