This course offers doctoral students a comprehensive roadmap for navigating the dissertation process from start to finish. Learners will examine the key differences between a Doctoral Dissertation and a Master’s Thesis, and use structured checklists to select a dissertation topic, advisor, and committee members. Guidance is then provided on how to conduct a systematic literature search and prepare an annotated bibliography so as to formulate research questions, hypotheses, and the methodological design for your dissertation. Finally, participants will learn strategies for maintaining a healthy relationship with their doctoral advisor and committee members, as well as strategies for overcoming common emotional hurdles encountered during the dissertation process such as repeated rejection, Imposter Syndrome, and burnout.
