This course provides a strategic framework for selecting a post-doctoral fellowship program and supervisor that align with long-term academic and professional goals. Learners will compare the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship versus entering the faculty job market directly. The course outlines methods for identifying fellowship opportunities, evaluating funding sources, and applying six key criteria to select the right program. Participants will learn how to assess supervisor fit through CV analysis and bibliometrics, as well as how to initiate supervisor contact using professional e-mail templates. Common mistakes in selecting post-doc programs and supervisors are highlighted to help ensure informed decision-making.
