This course provides a detailed, step-by-step guide to writing an effective Cover Letter for faculty position job applications. Learners will first explore the key distinctions between academic- and industry-focused Cover Letters. The course then guides participants through conducting targeted research on the university, department, and student body of their target institution to tailor their letter appropriately. Each of the six core components of a successful Cover Letter is also addressed with exemplars and formatting tips to improve clarity and impact. Finally, common mistakes are highlighted to help applicants avoid errors that can weaken their candidacy.
