Description:
This course provides a comprehensive overview of burnout and stress management within academic environments. Learners will define burnout, identify its symptoms, and distinguish it from related conditions such as compassion fatigue and countertransference. The course examines the primary causes of burnout among students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty members, and reviews key moderators that influence burnout risk. Participants will explore validated burnout assessment tools and learn how to apply individual and institutional strategies—both proactive and reactive—for preventing burnout and managing stress. In addition, more than 20 evidence-based interventions, including digital tools and wellness technologies, are presented to support sustainable well-being.
