Description:
This course builds on foundational qualitative research concepts by focusing on data collection, analysis, and validation techniques. Participants learn how to plan, conduct, and transcribe interviews and focus groups using structured, semi-structured, or unstructured formats. The course explores how to craft effective generative, directive, and probing questions to guide rich dialogue. Learners are introduced to six major methods of qualitative data analysis—Thematic, Narrative, Discourse, Grounded Theory, Content, and Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA)—and receive step-by-step guidance on implementing each. Emphasis is also placed on applying cross-checks to ensure data quality, reliability, and credibility throughout the research process.
