Descriptoin:
The performing arts provide engaging and fascinating windows into the experiences, identities, and cultural contexts of others. These are opportunities to deepen our own cultural competency. This professional development course, Culture and Context Through The Performing Arts, incorporates attendance at a live, in-person Moss performance of Memphis Jookin': The Show with dancer Lil Buck on Friday, March 18th, 10 am, and a follow-up, in-person moderated discussion. Pre-work is provided by the Moss Arts Center and OID to offer including valuable contextual materials on history, frameworks, and questions for thought for completion prior to the performance. Sponsored by the Office for Inclusion and Diversity and the Moss Arts Center.
