Description:

The arts provide windows into the experiences, identities, and cultural contexts of others. These are opportunities to deepen our own cultural competency. This professional development course, Culture and Context Through the Arts, incorporates attendance at a live, in-person matinee performance followed by an in-person moderated discussion afterward in the mezzanine (3rd floor) lobby of the Moss Arts Center. Pre-work is provided to offer including valuable contextual materials on history, frameworks, and questions for thought for completion prior to the performance.  This semester's performance features Kodo, a traditional Japanese drumming ensemble. Sponsored by the Office for Inclusion and Diversity and the Moss Arts Center.
