Description:
Using Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a scientifically valid framework, to create an accessible syllabus enhances the initial student experience. UDL focuses on reducing physical, cognitive, and institutional barriers to learning, extending beyond supporting students with disabilities. It fosters proactive and intentional course design that benefits all students. Accessible classroom resources promote student engagement and agency. Building an inclusive and diverse learning environment begins with creating an accessible syllabus. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to define and describe UDL principles. Participants will be able to use digital accessibility practices to create accessible syllabus.
