Description:

This year the Division of Information Technology and the School of Visual Arts collaborated with VT's Advanced Research Computing (ARC) to develop a render farm on ARC's powerful computers. This new system allows the art students to render their 3D animations much faster than when using their own computers or the machines in their classroom. The students are thrilled and have been using ARC's render farm with increasing frequency. This allows them to test and iterate with speed; thus they are able to produce more polished and more ambitious animations.
