Description:

For research at Virginia Tech there are sometimes opportunities to commercialize that research, which can take the form of a startup or new venture. Unfortunately, many new startups fail. As a PhD student here at Virginia Tech, my goal is to launch a new venture based on my current research and I share parts of that journey. My experience includes participating in the National Science Foundation's Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Program, where the goal is to determine if there is a market opportunity. In addition, I share my experience leveraging Virginia Tech's Proof of Concept Program for initial product development, as well as other strategies I've learned about commercializing research.
