Description:
Faculty face many challenges inside and outside the classroom. Finding the time to grade all your student's assignments and helping students improve their critical thinking skills are two such challenges. In this workshop, we will explore how Packback, an AI-supported learning tool integrated within Canvas, saves faculty time and provides real-time feedback to improve students’ critical thinking and writing skills. In this workshop, we will also share how faculty can use positive reinforcement loops to motivate students to practice discipline-specific communication. Additionally, the session will share the results of a year-long research study that highlights how Packback compares to other LMS discussions in student participation, writing rigor, and final grades.
