In this half day session, we will introduce basic building blocks of AWS Cloud – global infrastructure, security, compute, storage and network. We will use AWS Elastic Beanstalk as an example to demonstrate the concept of high performance and high availability built on top of those building blocks. We will end the session with a brief discussion on how to teach and do research on AWS. Hopefully, this discussion will lead to further deep dives on topics on teaching and research between our institution and AWS in the future.
