Time: 10:00 a.m. to Noon

Location: Online Only

Presented By: Advanced Research Computing (ARC)

Description:

ARC hosts several clusters which offer a variety of computational resources available to everyone at Virginia Tech. The paradigms for running workloads on clusters can be very different from running on a personal computer and this workshop addresses several of the most fundamental models of running code on ARC systems.
This workshop will cover some basic and advanced job submission models and information about managing the runtime environment of a job. The demonstrations will be predominantly via the Linux shell command line interface and will cover Slurm, software modules, and additional details and explanations for some of the recent enhancements ARC has implemented including qos, node selection constraints, and priority.

Prerequisites:

ARC account, connection to VT network
