Description:

Virginia Tech Experts (experts.vt.edu) is a new searchable profile system where researchers, scholars, educators at Virginia Tech with a Virginia Tech Elements account can choose to provide a public facing view of scholarly and creative works (with immediate open access and publisher DOI links), research interests, teaching, professional activities; interest in collaboration, mentorship, graduate student supervision, and more. Join this hands-on workshop to create your profile!

In this workshop you will have time to work on and learn how to:

Share a biography, research interests summary, and/or teaching statement
Highlight your areas of expertise and interest with keywords or tags 
Display your availability to: collaborate, supervise a graduate student, be a panelist, respond to media inquiries, and more 
Hide information you do not wish to display on your public Experts profile
Feature selected scholarly and creative works and activities on Experts
Make full text of your articles, chapters, and other scholarly and creative works more accessible via direct links to publisher sites and open access options, including direct downloads from VTechWorks, Virginia Tech’s institutional repository (global open access)
Set your profile to ‘public’ to display in Virginia Tech Experts
