Description:

Virginia Tech Experts is a new searchable profile system where researchers, scholars, educators at Virginia Tech with a Virginia Tech Elements account can choose to provide a public facing view of scholarly and creative works, research interests, teaching, professional activities; interest in collaboration, mentorship, graduate student supervision, and more. The Virginia Tech Experts profile system became publicly available on Oct. 26, 2021. Join this hands on workshop to create your profile!

In this workshop you will have time to work on and learn how to:

Share a biography, research interests summary, and/or teaching statement
Highlight your areas of expertise and interest with keywords or tags 
Display your availability to: collaborate, supervise a graduate student, be a panelist, respond to media inquiries, and more 
Review your information in your Elements profile and lists and update or add as needed.

Hide information you do not wish to display on your public profile, such as profile information and list information in your scholarly and creative works, teaching, or other sections
Feature selected scholarly and creative works and activities
Make full text of your articles, chapters, and other scholarly and creative works more accessible via direct links to publisher sites and PDF downloads via versions in the VTechWorks institutional repository (open to anyone without subscription)
Set your profile to ‘public’ to display in Virginia Tech Experts
