Description:

Learn what web scraping is (and is not) and common use cases, then practice identifying and selecting webpage content for scraping using XPath. No experience is necessary for this workshop, but participants need access to a computer with Google Chrome. We recommend combining this with Web scraping 102 for additional tools and practice. The workshop is based on episodes 1 and 2 of the Library Carpentry Web Scraping curriculum (https://librarycarpentry.org/lc-webscraping/), and is relevant to anyone interested in gathering data from websites.
