Description:
This hands-on, participatory workshop provides an introduction to using the R programming language for reproducible data analysis and scientific computing. Learn how to work with data in R and RStudio, whether or not you have any experience with coding or data analysis.
The workshop is open to all VT community members. You do not need any experience with the software to participate, but you will need access to a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. Instructions for accessing course material and installing software will be sent in advance. The curriculum is based on episodes 1–3 of the Data Carpentry Data Analysis and Visualization with R lesson (https://datacarpentry.org/r-socialsci/Links to an external site. ).
Learning outcomes
Practice navigating and utilizing the RStudio interface.
Work with common forms of data types in R.
Import data into R and RStudio.
Get started working with data in R.
