Description:
This hands-on, participatory workshop focuses on data wrangling and visualization using the tidyverse set of packages in R. Attendees will practice cleaning and wrangling tabular data and become acquainted with the process of creating reproducible data visualizations using real-world data.
The workshop is open to anyone, but learners should be familiar with programming in R equivalent to the Intro to R and RStudio workshop. You will need access to a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. The curriculum is based on episodes 4 and 6 of the Data Carpentry Data Analysis and Visualization with R lesson (https://datacarpentry.org/r-socialsci/Links to an external site.).
Learning outcomes
Data wrangling practices, including creating summary statistics from a data frame.
Become acquainted with the concept of tidy data.
Create reproducible data visualizations using ggplot2.
