Date: January 14th, 2025

Time: 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Location: Online Only

Instructor: Inga Haugen

Presented By: University Libraries (LIB) and the National Agricultural Library

Description:

Join University Libraries at Virginia Tech and the National Agricultural Library on Tuesday, January 14th, at 2:30pm EST AND Thursday, January 16th at 10:00am EST for informational webinars on USDA public access requirements and sharing your USDA-funded work. We are providing TWO identical webinars on different dates and times to accommodate as many people as possible. The interest after our previous jointly hosted event on October 2nd was strong enough to merit another set of webinars. All are welcome; however, the target audience is Virginia Tech, Virgina State University, and Viriginia Cooperative Extension folk. Within those spaces, please share broadly!

The United States Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has released two memos providing guidelines on public access awareness and compliance. Public access refers to the free and equitable availability of federally funded scholarly materials, including data and publications. This presentation will provide details on how to meet USDA's public access requirements to submit final, peer-reviewed, accepted manuscripts to PubAg and create catalog records for data assets in the Ag Data Commons.

The webinars will be recorded and emailed to all registrants within 48 hours of the presentation.
