Join this session for an overview of traditional impact metrics and altmetrics documenting use of and engagement with research. Learn about how research metrics sources (Web of Science, PubMed Central, Altmetrics.com) gather and report data and why they provide different information. The session will include an overview of types of metrics, sources and tools for gathering metrics, and examples of metrics documentation options for researchers in multiple disciplines. We’ll conclude with a brief discussion of qualitative documentation to put your research metrics in context.
