Description:

VT Elements, a faculty activity repository, is used for a variety of purposes, including data for department, college, or broader institutional analytics and reports, the VT Experts public profiles system, and as the primary data source for electronic faculty activity reports (eFARs) by some areas. In this hands-on session, Barbara Lockee (Office of the Provost) and Ginny Pannabecker (University Libraries) will provide a brief introduction to Elements and the new interface features and functions afforded by the latest upgrade to version 6. Topics will include an overview of system functionality, how to import or manually add and edit information, how to deposit scholarly works into VTechWorks, how to generate reports through the University Data Commons (UDC), and how to manage information in the Virginia Tech Experts profile system that draws faculty activity data from Elements. The session will also include time for discussion and opportunities to address questions or issues.
