Description:
Get a hands-on introduction to qualitative (manual) text coding in individual and team settings. Learn the differences between inductive (open, grounded theory) and deductive (theory-driven) coding and practice multiple models of collaborative coding by hand and with Google Sheets and Excel. This is an introductory workshop and it requires no experience with qualitative coding or specific software, but you will need a laptop with Microsoft Excel to get the most out of it. Laptops are available for check out on the second floor or at the Media Design Studio A. This workshop is also available online via Zoom.
