Our world is continually reshaped by new technologies that originally emerged from academic research. After discovery in the lab, these early-stage technologies require substantial investment and development outside the academic lab to cross the lab-to-market journey and achieve positive impact the economy and the human condition. One attractive path to increased impact is the creation of a new venture that spins-out from the lab as an independent startup with a license to commercialize the technology. This workshop series informs that journey with seven sessions, each focused on key topics (see session links below) that will reduce that uncertainty surrounding the creation of such a venture and introduces tools and mythologies that increase the likelihood of success.
