Prerequisites:
- Basic unix/linux shell (e.g., bash) commands and like cd, ls, pwd, rm, mv, mkdir.
- Basic feel for computer storage. An ARC account and cluster access.
Description:
Data management is important for effectively using both storage and compute resources. ARC provides various mounts, and each has strengths and weaknesses. Knowing these enables users to take advantage of the strengths of each mount for various types of activities, e.g., more permanent storage, faster read-write access for large sizes of software inputs and outputs. Together, using different mounts for different types of work and choosing appropriate file permissions will make you more efficient and keep your data safe.
