Description:
Faculty communicate with students in a multitude of ways; however, how much of your communication are you intentionally planning and how clear are your expectations to your students? “Transparent teaching methods help students understand how and why they are learning course content in particular ways” (TILT Higher Ed Project). However, these methods do not require major adjustments to your teaching, and instead can focus on small changes that help students succeed. This session will examine practical strategies to promote clear communication and transparency in your teaching, course design, assignment directions, and feedback.
