Description:

Project- and problem-based learning (PBL) are powerful pedagogies that foster deep engagement with course content while simultaneously cultivating essential professional skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.

In this interactive session, we will:

Demonstrate how PBL supports students in mastering disciplinary knowledge while also preparing them with transferable skills valued in professional contexts.
Share strategies for sourcing and integrating case studies, problems, and projects into your course plan.
Discuss key elements and considerations for designing your course with PBL.
Consider essential aspects of and tools for group and peer evaluation processes.
Explore critical dimensions of student reflection and how to create effective prompts.

This workshop is designed with examples curated for the Pamplin College of Business Teaching and Learning in the Classroom (TLC) Roundtable; however, instructors and faculty from other colleges are welcome to attend to enrich the experience.
