Description:
This workshop explores the Canvas CORE: Critical Online Readiness Elements, which consists of 5 primary tenets. This workshop will guide instructors through those principles and offer tips on how to design a strong course in Canvas.
1. Use the Course Grade Book
The Gradebook helps students see how they are progressing in your course.
2. Communicate regularly.
Canvas provides several tools for keeping your students informed about upcoming assignments, announcing changes to the syllabus,
and allowing students to contact you with questions.
3. Organize your course with the Module tool.
Using modules creates an environment that looks the same, week in and week out, providing a consistent reliable navigation that students recognize.
4. Use the Course Calendar.
Adding Assignments, Quizzes, and and activities to the course calendar tool keeps all of your due dates in one place and ensure that they will appear in your students' individual Canvas calendar.
5. Improve accessibility with Ally
Ally scans your uploaded content and assigns it an accessibility score to each file, and provides and suggestions for improving the accessibility of your materials. Ally Provides students with alternative forms of course files.
