Description:
This session is a hands-on introduction to using social annotation to enhance student engagement and learning across any discipline. In this workshop,we’ll demonstrate how to seamlessly integrate Hypothesis into your course design, including setting up annotation assignments with your course. Leave with ideas you can use immediately, like the “annotate your syllabus” activity. Learn effective, low-stakes ways to introduce students to social annotation while encouraging early engagement, questions, and community-building around course expectations.
Participants will leave with clear pedagogical strategies and technical know-how to begin incorporating collaborative annotation into their own courses immediately. Whether you’re brand new to Hypothesis or looking to deepen student interaction with course materials, this session will provide actionable ideas to improve student outcomes from day one.
