Description:
In this session, current trends in higher education serve as the framework to discuss new technologies and evolutions in teaching strategies in our rapidly changing teaching and learning environments. The goal of this session is for us to show you the resources that TLOS and Virginia Tech have available to you to keep you working with the most current technologies and teaching approaches.
Each of these sessions will have a special topic where we can focus on one specific Trend in higher education. Educators and learners seek ways to engage with content and one another that go beyond video conferencing. This discussion focuses on the use of immersive experiences (Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality) from what platforms and vendors are in use currently, what research is happening at Virginia Tech, and how you can create your own social VR and/or teach your students to create their own.
If this topic is not to your liking, other topics are available in the Tech Talks series. Check our PDN catalog for a full offering: https://profdev.tlos.vt.edu.
