This is a required course for the NLI Computer Refresh Program.

Note: There are also several face-to-face options that occur throughout the semester. This option is an online, self-paced workshop that asks for you to read, watch, and learn, as well as to reflect and write some responses to issues and challenges facing you as an instructor in the contemporary technological university. If you enroll in this section, you will receive an email welcoming you to the course, at which time, you can follow the link, accept the Canvas course invitation, and proceed. The course will be open on January 14, 2019 and all assignments must be completed before May 3, 2019 to receive credit for the computer refresh program.

In this session, current trends in higher education serve as the framework to discuss new technologies and evolutions in teaching strategies in our rapidly changing teaching and learning environments. Using the 2017 NMC Horizon Report as a launching pad, this session reviews trends in higher educational technologies that may have a direct impact on your teaching and research. Participants will get a chance to review an array of topics and hear where to find support for their interests on campus.
