When designing a lesson plan, many instructors consider the course objectives, teaching techniques, and student learning assessment. This workshop will teach the participants how to effectively implement their teaching plan and how to assess and reflect on their lesson plan. It will mainly focus on pedagogical orientation or interests, learning goals and objectives for a course, a course’s function within a disciplinary or program curriculum, theoretical or methodological orientations of one’s discipline, syllabi construction (both substantive and formal), reading assignments, written assignments, tests, and other methods of assessing student learning and performance, grading methods and policies, and discussion management.
