Description:

Our faculty-led community of practice is dedicated to enhancing the processes required to furnish instructors with improved and timely information regarding their students' progress in achieving designated course objectives. By leveraging this information, VT faculty can gain a deeper understanding of their impact on student learning, empowering them to make more informed teaching decisions.

In turn, as individual faculty better understand and adjust their contributions to student learning, not only will student learning be more measurable at the course level, but departments, programs and colleges will be able to aggregate this data across courses for better continuous improvement of contribution to student learning of program, major, concentration, and college-level learning objectives. As faculty members refine their understanding and adjust their methods to effectively support student learning, the accuracy of measuring student progress within each course improves.

During this session, participants will receive an overview of the work accomplished so far and will be encouraged to provide feedback to shape how this process can better align with the specific needs of their courses.
