Description:

When AI can generate polished essays, working code, and fluent case analyses, a strong end-product doesn't tell us much about whether learning actually occurred. This hands-on practicum reframes assessment design as a scholarly practice instead of a crisis response. We’ll look at why product-focused assessments are now structurally vulnerable, walk through a three-lane framework for making thoughtful decisions about AI’s role in your courses, and explore practical strategies for making student reasoning visible and assessable. You’ll audit one of your own assignments for AI vulnerability, choose an AI lane that fits your learning outcomes, and redesign the assignment so it captures learning.
