Description:

ChatGPT, a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) chat bot, was released in late November, 2022. You may be hearing an array of opinions about the implications this tool could have for the future of teaching and learning. Any time a new technology like ChatGPT emerges and captures the public’s attention, initial reactions tend to be polarized. Some see generative AI as a great threat to higher education, while others view it as a positive force for reshaping the way we teach.

In the midst of these heated debates, campus leaders at Virginia Tech recommend a more measured approach. Join professionals from Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS), the Undergraduate Honor System, and other offices for a discussion about the implications of ChatGPT on our campus. In this interactive session, we’ll explore possibilities and challenges that the tool may create for education. Bring your ideas and questions
