Description:
Registration for this year’s Summer Institute is full. If you have already registered for the Summer Institute, you can still enroll here to be eligible for PDN credit.
Registration Closes May 13th, at 5:00pm
For the first time, the annual Summer Institute is open to all instructors from any college or unit who teach undergraduate students. For 2 ½ days in May, the event will offer professional development sessions that dig into today’s most pressing teaching challenges and share insights for meeting the needs of our students. Whether you teach small classes or large, online or in-person, foundational or upper-level courses, there will be something for early career instructors and seasoned veterans alike. The Wednesday Keynote will feature Dr. Liz Norell, author of the book 'The Present Professor.' Her keynote address, titled “Teaching in Challenging Times: Sustaining Ourselves Through Presence and Authenticity,” will discuss ways to be more authentic and present in the classroom to foster an environment of psychological safety and vulnerability. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Attendance will be limited to 350 people. Graduate students are welcome. Attendees are eligible to receive up to 12 PDN credits (depends on time in attendance).
