Full course description

Term: Fall 2020

Date: September 28th, 2020

Time: 10:00am - 11:00am

Presented By: Advanced Research Computing (ARC)

Description:

In Summer 2020, Advanced Research Computing will be rolling out "TinkerCliffs," a new cluster that will become Virginia Tech's flagship CPU compute system with nearly 42,000 cores and over 93 TB of RAM. This cluster will use a system called "EasyBuild" to compile and manage access to scientific software packages, this system is very powerful but differs somewhat from the system used on previous ARC resources. This class will help users (i) become acclimated to using packages that ARC provides through EasyBuild, and (ii) learn how to use the system to compile new or custom versions of scientific software to meet their needs.
